[ltp] external DIGITAL monitor with ubuntu and intel i950 graphics

i get ~6W for almost idle, Wlan still on, backlight at half, reading
things in the browser without too much interrupt generation by the inout
devices.

i get ~7W for a fully (for my case) working setup, wlan on, lot's of
typing (vim latexsuite), turned of anything else (no Bluetooth, no 3g
[this thing needs a lot of power], Wlan set to powersave mode) display
reduced to 3/4 of the maximum brightness.

Machine: x301, led backlight, SSD HDD, intel iwl5300agn.
