Well, don't have a X300, but googling says that it has a 3G modem, a
"Sierra Wireless, Incorporated Mini Card" according to
http://www.blacquiere.nl/~robert/x300_openbsd_dmesg.txt.
If you can trust http://www.minitechnet.de/lenovo_x300_1.html, it's a
Sierra Wireless MC8775 UMTS HSDPA Modem
And for that you can find some infos at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SierraMC8775, seems to work fine after you
remove the simlock :)
