Since this is a security feature, it wouldn't be very secure if there 
were a software-only solution, would it? And in all my years of being in 
the ThinkPad community (since 1992), I've never heard of such a solution.

At a bare minimum, you'll need to disassemble the machine and connect to 
the security chip.

It's far easier to either get the password, or have your company change 
the settings you need, and if it's work-related, even slightly, your 
manager should back you up on this.

The second best option, IMO, is to buy another ThinkPad yourself.
