You will need a 64 bit or a PAE kernel to make use of all the 4 GB RAM. My 
wife runs a X61Tablet with 4 GB in that way.

However, for non-server systems I recommend using a PAE kernel as it creates 
less hassle when using legacy 32 bit software. My X200 tablet runs pretty fine 
with that solution (Fedora 11 distro).
