You got denied a replacement battery in a public-safety-related recall
because it was old and out-of-warranty?  Are you sure it was not because
your batterie's serial number indicated that it was not in one of the bad
manufacturing runs?

Or was this a different recall, not related to batteries catching fire and
blowing up?
