Good to hear, regarding Ubuntu 10.04 being pretty fast :)  I am 
surprised how nicely the t41 is doing speedwise.

Regarding SMD soldering, wach of the machines I purchased didn't have 
BIOS passwords set.  Luckily I got to test them before I bought them :)

SMD soldering scares the crap out of me.  I would want to have plenty of 
practice first.

Thanks for your input regarding that you wouldn't purchase the T40 
series due to heat issues... I guess I'll just have to hope for the 
best.  That's seemingly becoming my mantra, which is a little scary.
