Hi!

I want to replace my 160 GB Hitachi harddisk with something bigger.=20
Biggest 2,5 inch IDE I saw is Western Digital 320 GB. WD Scorpio Blue=20
WD3200BEVE - Festplatte - 320 GB - ATA-100 for about 80-90 Euro.

500 GB SATA is way cheaper and bigger.

Now I found:

an-2-5-Zoll-IDE/a21484455_u526_z02d15c2b-7132-457a-a0fc-624f3340bf2c/

but it looks quite big, so I am not sure whether it fits together with a=20
2,5 inch SATA disk.

Did anyone try something like this?

I also found

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ultrabay_Slim_SATA_HDD_Adapter

and that this one can be used in a ThinkPad T42 as well, if that "black=20
plastic grommet at the back that restricts its use to the 60 series=20
ThinkPads" is removed.

Any experiences with that one? I could even have a RAID 1 then at least=20
over the capacity that both harddisks share.

But then altough I do not use the DVD/CDRW drive that often, I bet hot=20
plugging that ultrabay harddisk might pose a problem. Any experiences?

Or should I just go with that 320 GB IDE drive and be done with it? 160=20
additional GB is plenty.

Ciao,
=2D-=20
