Out of curiosity, if you disable ACPI (by appending acpi=off to your
kernel boot line) and set the module options to those described on
ThinkWiki[1], do you get sound?  I recently setup a 600E and could not
get audio working with ACPI enabled.  It is not a "real" fix, but it
might be a useful symptom...
