OK. I didn't trust the values anyway. The M7 simply cannot go that
fast.

In Ubuntu 10.04 KMS and powersaving in X do not mix (man radeon: This
option is not supported with KMS enabled). So for me the options are
KMS with a working suspend (maybe, not tested) or a long battery
runtime.

What is the state of radeonfb and xorg - radeon running together?

I really hope to one day install a linux distribution that does not
require changing or patching the kernel by day three. So far in
5 years running debian and ubuntu on this Thinkpad it never happened.
