Hi Christoph,

Does it need run permanently? I thought its only executed once during boot.
Have you loaded the modules necessary to control the battery?
tp_smapi               26194  0
thinkpad_ec             5842  2 hdaps,tp_smapi

cheers
Mark

Hello,

after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04 I observed that /etc/sysfs.conf
isn't used (despite of
devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/stop_charge_thresh=3D75 battery is charged
to 100 percent). That's because sysfsutils isn't running:

----------
chris@skull-tp:~$ ps aux | grep sysfs
chris =A0 =A0 3022 =A00.0 =A00.0 =A0 3328 =A0 808 pts/1 =A0 =A0S+ =A0 17:58=
=A0 0:00
grep sysfs
----------

Trying to start it manually prints:

----------
chris@skull-tp:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/sysfsutils start
[sudo] password for chris:
=A0* Setting sysfs variables...
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 * unknown attribute
bus/pci/drivers/iwlagn/0000:03:00.0/power_level

=A0 =A0 [ OK ]
----------

But it's still not running:

----------
chris@skull-tp:~$ ps aux | grep sysfs
chris =A0 =A0 3075 =A00.0 =A00.0 =A0 3328 =A0 808 pts/1 =A0 =A0S+ =A0 17:59=
=A0 0:00
grep sysfs
----------

I guess starting fails because of the unknown attribute. Indeed
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwlagn/0000\:03\:00.0/power_level doesn't exist
anymore. What's the right replacement for
"bus/pci/drivers/iwlagn/0000:03:00.0/power_level=3D5" in sysfs.co=
nf?

Best
