Certainly! gnome-display-properties lets you drag the monitors around,
to select which side of the extended desktop is on which monitor, or you
could choose a clone mode and have the same picture on all connected
monitors.

The clone mode tries to deal with different resolutions by picking one
that's supported by both monitors. Sometimes that ends up being
something unpleasantly low as 800x600.

I believe you could coax the command-line xrandr tool to use native
resolutions and scale the desktop to it's all visible, even if the
resolutions differ. It's a bit beyond my experience, though.

Then xrandr/gnome-display-properties would stop working and you'd have
to use proprietary nVidia tools.
