[ltp] Turning off the Touchpad

Hello List,

is there any way to really turn off the Touchpad in a T43? Of course, I
can use synclient, xinput or the sysfs interface, but these seem to all
use the same method. The reason I am asking is that the touchpad, even
when disabled this way, still generates a lot of wakeups as soon as
anything gets close - fire up powertop and put your finger on the pad
to see. So I want to avoid these wakeups and the increased drain on my
battery. Any way to do this?
