It seems to be able to do LBA48 just fine, so it will be much more a matter
of finding a good PATA laptop drive nowadays.

Damn, the only reason I have to consider a new laptop is the move to SATA,
and the sheer mindblogging difficulty that it would be to get a good SSD
inside the T43.  I can still get Samsung 320GB PATA laptop drives around
here, but they're all 5k4 RPM...

Unless someone knows of a good PATA SSD drive?  I really won't go through
the pain that it takes to hook an Intel SATA SSD inside the T43.
