You _REALLY_ need that firmware.  If it is around, check for udev doing
idiotic things.  I've seen that crap get stuck at resume time and break
_ALL_ firmware loading past a certain point.

Bad design decision of not loading all firmware you might want and
pinning it in locked RAM in the first place.
