Some food for thought for the battery preservation community:

While it surely is good practice to not stress and prematurely waste
one's Thinkpad battery, i would never want to risk even only a fraction
of my daily work due to some sudden unexpected, if only short, power
outage just for not wanting to stress the battery too much. My very own
work is so much more important to save than any battery, because the
precious time invested in my own work which would not be nearly as
recoverable as the currency level on which the Thinkpad relies for
proper function.

I'd rather stress the battery, and buy a replacement one in the future,
than risk the loss of any of my very own work output. Frequent backups
never cover the time between the last backup run and the time of the
power outage happening before the next backup run. The battery serves a
function, and this is one of the most important ones.

Thanks a lot Henrique for your absolutely invaluable contributions!

Best regards
