BTW, I have simular problem with recent T61 BIOS - flash2.exe or
command.com updater interface hangs when starting from different DOS kernel,
for example I`ve tried FreeDOS 1.0, MS-DOS 6.22 and IBM DOS 5.0 - updater
hangs or throw out a some stack and probably die on all of them.
Same behavior may be observed using memdisk and the original iso. For me,
it means another step on the way to load patched bios over flash2.exe.

I tried installing BIOS 1.22, but when I select "Update system
I used syslinux on an USB stick for this, with the "memdisk" kern=

Here's my syslinux.conf:
append iso initrd=3D8duj11uc.iso
Any idea why this doesn't work?
