Hi Juan Miguel,

I had installed FreeBSD on a Thinkpad X24 (don't know, how similar this
is). This was some time ago (now I am running Debian on that Hardware).
It was FreeBSD 5, 6 and 7. The update to FreeBSD 8 gave some problems
and I had to decide, if Debian or a full reinstall of FreeBSD (8 then).
I decided to give Debian a try.

Running FreeBSD on the ThinkPad was quite straight forward. No problems
with most of the hardware, but I had not tested WiFi (USB) and I don't
know if suspend (to RAM or to disk) was fully working. On the other hand
I liked the way how the FreeBSd system worked, how it was installed and
updated and the ports system.

I cannot say anything about the current FreeBSD system and about the
nuch more modern hardware of your T60. But I would try. Maybe you can
test a live system on DVD/CD like FREESBIE (http://www.freesbie.org/).

I hope you have success,

Karsten
