[ltp] Weird beep from X201s

My trusty X201s has started to hang upon resume (the display is shown in
its state just before displaying the password box of the lockscreen),
with acute&soft&short beeps (different from the beeps usually emitted in
response to things like going to sleep) emitted every 28s.

It started after an "aptitude upgrade" in my Debian testing (a fairly
big update that brought in gnome3 among other things).

Any idea what might be going on and/or what I could try to track it
down, fix it, or workaround it?
