I've got the same thing going. I bought 128GB mSATA drive for my X220
from this place...

And have been happy since then. Also a 1TB platter drive. Dump your OS
and apps onto the mSATA drive and everything static (like music) onto
the platter drive. Use laptop-mode-tools to specify a spin down option
for while you're on battery and you're set.
