<div>Hi everybody!<br></div><div><br></div><div>I have an old but so far very reliable T61, as a kind of kitchen and living room laptop.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Now, since a few days, the screen started flickering at a rather high frequency, it gets worse when I turn up brightness, and there is a weird whirring / buzzing sound, rather silent, but it gets louder with turned up brightness. Also, sometimes areas that should for example be white turn a bit pinkish or even orange, mostly just for a short time. Other than that, the picture is clear.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Any idea what this could be? At first, I hoped it could be just a connection problem, the plug could have gotten loose, but I rather sure that's not it.<br></div><div><br></div><div>So now I'm mostly wondering if exchanging the screen itself would do the job, or could it be the GPU that is about to die?<br></div><div><br></div><div>I'd appreciate any suggestions, and thanks for reading!<br></div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Tom</div> </body>
