Last ditch effort, you can try disassembling the whole keyboard and run the parts through a dishwasher on a no-heat dry quick cycle. I've saved a X220 keyboard while traveling this way. If you Google around you can find other people's experiences doing this with a multitude of keyboards. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

--
Rubin (he/him)
rubin@starset.net

On Wed, Jun 28, 2023, 16:21 Stefan Monnier <monnier@iro.umontreal.ca> wrote:

I love my UltraNav USB keyboard, which gives me the same keyboard with
the fact that it comes with a builtin USB hub where I can plug my mouse.
Sadly, a spill seems to have killed it for good: most of the keys still
work, but many don't, despite my effort to clean them (including
removing the key itself, and cleaning the underneath scissor thingies:
just pressing directly on the rubber cup that's under the key still
tiny switch that sits under that rubber cup and I haven't found any hint
Lenovo doesn't sell them keyboards any more, and while I may still find
some on ebay they're really expensive (and/or come with layouts I don't
like).
So I'm wondering if maybe I can replace just the keyboard part itself,
maybe using a keyboard part from a laptop. Does anyone know what would be
a compatible part number for these things or has performed such a swap?
