| Do I have to use the 3rd party sound drivers? (They do work better
| than IBM's WinDos98 drivers though...)

I paid for the OSS drivers and haven't regretted it. I'm using kernel
version 2.0.36 on my 770Z, which uses the Crystal 4239 chipset, and I
have OSS configured for a CS 4232 (4239 is downwardly compatible).

| How do I configure the power management under Linux?

If you're using stock Redhat, then you've got the 2.0.36 kernel. You
need to recompile your kernel with all the APM options enabled, and you
need to make a slight change to one of the kernel source files first.
