True for Windoze, not for Linux AFAIK.

Using apmd I have no problems with any PCMCIA cards. I calls suspend/resume
for
any inserted cards before/after suspending. There I treat the messsages as
eject/inserts.
BTW the apmd beta package now contains the RedHat modification for calling
scripts
on/after suspend.
