Hello
I think you should go directly to Redhat 6.0, much better support for
thinkpads.
And install Win98 first, just create one partition with Fdisk, and install
Win98 on that, and Redhat on the unpartitoned space.
And you can use lilo as boot manager, and place it on the MBR, or use
lodlin, then you can create boot menu in Config.sys and load lodlin from
there or from autoexec.bat.
and even create shortcut in Win98 to load Linux.

have just purchased a thinkpad i1412 and plan to try and install
a dual boot linux/win98 on it using system commander and red hat 5.2.
i have visited linux.org and a few other linux/thinkpad sites...nothing
specific on the 1412 - cuase it is so new ? -
has anyone done this kind of install ? and if so...any pitfalls i need to
know before i start ?
