For what it's worth, I've used subject card successfully on various
Thinkpads (including a 770X). It works pretty much out of the box with
Debian 2.1 (kernel 2.0.36, pcmcia 3.0.5 IIRC). You have to disable the
high memory area in the config.opts file, though. And you need to fill
in correct values in the network.opts file.
One thing to watch out for: if you hook up to an otherwise empty MAU,
autosensing won't work and the adapter will fail to open. You can avoid
this by having a line like:
ibmtr_cs options 'ringspeed=16'
in your config.opts. Note: I'm working from memory so there might be a
typo or two...
