[ltp] why "install exited abnormally"?

During the installation, I am able to "ping" the
ThinkPad and get a response--this shows that the
PCMCIA network card is working fine. Also, I see/hear
that (nfs mounted) CDROM drive being used for
installation. 
I hope this information helps.
