[ltp] why "install exited abnormally"?

The same problem occured on an ordinary PC, non TP machine. It is
connected to the disk partitions or disk media. Could be you have bad
blocks on disk, and they can not be recovered, but I am not sure.
When I reformatted the disk (from bootable Partition Magic diskette),
the problems disappeared.
