[ltp] cloning 14G drives

I just used dd to copy my whole 14 GB drive to /dev/null:

# dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/null bs=1024k   
13481+1 records in
13481+1 records out

I'm using the Mandrake 6.0 kernel (2.2.9 + various patches).  It's quite
possible that one of the patches makes this work.

| that's what i thought originally.  but empirically, it isn't so.  
| i tried 'dd' and a small perl program (based on sysread).  both 
| stopped at approx. the same barrier: 7,560M.
