I have no experience with IBM modems but the 3Com Megahertz Cellular PCMCIA
card 3CXM556 or the non-cellular one (if you can find it). work fine on a 770z
and 770ed respectively. (Using RH5.2, 6.0, Slackware 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 4.0).
