Thanks all.  for some reason, my posts don't show up on the list until
4-5 hours after sending, and replies come in almost immediately after
that without the dela.  Maybe the list administrator can tell me why???

So in summary, I did the rescue disk thing with fdisk and partitioned it
out manually, but I'll certainly know for next time!
