Your next projects, for automount use autofs, but its not like any other UN*Xs
try having all your automounts in /tmp_mount and sim link the real directories
to them, don't try to automount into / as it wipes all my files when I did that
:-)

Java..... try IBMs JDK

You can get Visual Age for linux too !
