I believe that Sol7 will run on a TP770. I have Solaris 7 and can test it at
some point. I cannot promise sound,
but the HCL from 8/99 shows:
Sound Blaster 16/AWE32/Pro/Pro-2/Vibra16 are all supported
www.4front-tech.com has more drivers for Solaris 7 sound. Please check there.
The PCMCIA situation is very slim. Very few items are supported, mostly modems
and some flash memory
cards. If there are specific items, please email me directly (cspeare at
us.ibm.com) and let me know. As far
as X is concerned, decent video support and you should be able to get it without
trouble. Again, specific information
(chipset) and I'll tell you if it'll work based upon the HCL I have. [The most
currently shipping version.]
Best regards,
Carl D. Speare
