Same experience here. I have this is in /etc/rc.d/rc.local:

echo "Crystal Sound Hack"
/sbin/rmmod cs4232
/sbin/modprobe cs4232

If it stops working during a session, I just run '/etc/rc.d/rc.local'
again.
