[ltp] TP600E sound & APM problems and another question

| I've just taken the plunge and installed Mandrake 6,1 on my TP600E using LNX4WIN. Seems okay so far but for a couple of things: I've got no sound and KDE ignores the Suspend function (Fn-F4). Can anyone offer advice or URLs to help me solve this, please?

Fn-F4 doesn't work if you're using AC power AND a PCMCIA card
simultaneously. However, you can still suspend from software using "apm
--suspend". I put a button on my KDE panel to run that command.

Regarding sound... I have a 770Z, which I think has the same (or
similar) sound hardware. Here's what's in my conf.modules for sound:

/*--------------------------------------------------------------------*/
alias sound cs4232
pre-install sound insmod sound dmabuf=1
alias midi opl3
options opl3 io=0x388
options cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 mpuio=0x330 mpuirq=9
/*--------------------------------------------------------------------*/

However, you'll probably find that sound stops working across a suspend.
You have to unload and reload the kernel modules to make the sound work
again.

| Secondly, does anyone know of any way of running Linux in a WinNT window? I'd like to tinker with Linux at work on a desktop machine, but I don't have a spare box to devote entirely to it so I'd be reduced to using some sort of virtual machine-type thing in NT, if such a thing exists.

P. S. You should consider using word-wrap in your future messages. It
makes responding to them a lot more pleasant.
