Is there any point?

a) disks are so huge nowadays that there's a good chance your employer will
give you another computer before you fill this one
b) as I recall, it's easy to mount /dos so that Linux can read and write
the Windows partition (the reverse is not so hard either, but less
recommended, since one doesn't want an unstable operating system
corrupting one's Linux machine). I haven't done this in a long time
   so can't provide the details
c) the Windows side of my machines has filled up waaay faster than the
Linux side, just because I have to Install these huge programs.
Maybe I play more Windows games than you're going to.

I suspect b) is the most compelling reason not to bother. While it does
seem good not to put such a thing off if you're definitely going to do
it sometime, a) says that you can probably put it off for a while.

Just one Linux/Windows user's view... quite ready to be chucked under
the chin for being naive about some neglected issue.
