I'm running a TP-770X with Linux and XFree86 since 2 years. Please see
my website for details:
http://baiti.net/tp770x/
My latest experiences are the following though ( I had posted these to
this lists a few weeks ago, you'll find it all in the list archives):
o complete new RH 7.0 install
o comes with XFree86-4.0.1
o doesn't activate the V4 driver by default
o the 3.3.6 driver did _not_ work with "accel" option. As a result
performance was a veg.
o learnt how to activate V4 driver (need to set symlink X ->
../../XFree86)
o V4 driver worked not reliably, once in a while system crashed
totally and even pin-hole reset was required
o cure: copied the XF86_SVGA binary from RH 6.2 and adjusted 'X'
symlink to it and everything is back to normal now which means
X works realiably and with acceleration.
I have no idea why your KDE requests XFree86-4.0.2 though. Seems you
have installed a too new version of KDE and some of the KDE apps.
