James,
Thanks for your advice, I'll try it at home, but I think it's not problem of the
mouse, but something else, which is the next step during setup. But I don't know
what's next, because this is the first time I'm doing this. I'll try to post
also some messages from the screen when it freezes....
Thank you all
Steve

What happens if you plug in an external mouse try bother serial and PS/2, if
you boot
with a PS/2 mouse connected it disable the internal one, and may be that
will get you though the install. (Mice can be fixed later).

Subject: [ltp] RH 6.1 on TP770ED - the cry for help
Hi there!
I'm watching your messages and thinking you all are happy guys!
I have TP770ED (PII 266, 128MB RAM, 8.1GB HDD, DVD, ...). On my hard drive
is
one 4.7GB FAT32 partition with Windows 2000, one 2 GB FAT32 partition with
data
and I'd like to set up RedHat 6.1 to the remaining space, but...
The setup program starts (graphic version doesn't work, so I'm talking about
text version), I partition my drive...OK, I choose some stuff, untill it
asks
for the mouse type. I choose standard PS/2 mouse (but I tried some of them),
and
the machine freezes, or shuts down.
Does anybody know what the hell is happening here?
Thank you in advance for any help.
Stefan
