It's not too bad
you should be able to get patches from 2.2.7 (maybe)
patch your tree or put 2.2.14 in /usr/src/linux (that'll save you
download time)
make xconfig
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
switch to pcmcia source dir
./configure (use kernel tree)
make all
make install
copy /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage to /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.14
copy System.map to /boot/System.map-2.2.14
link /boot/vmlinuz to vmlinuz-2.2.14
link /boot/Systemp.map to System.map-2.2.14
edit lilo.conf to make sure your old kernel and your
kernel can boot
your old kernel is probably vmlinuz-2.2.7?
run /sbin/lilo -v
reboot and you're running on 2.2.14
good luck
