It's still my work-horse. It may be heavy, it may be slow, but sturdy it is!
I still bore people (now it's your turn!) about the following story: The CMOS
battery had gone insane. The machine wouldn't remember BIOS settings if I
turned the unit off, so I constantly kept it on suspend (I didn't turn it in for
repairs, 'cause they keep it up to a week, and I couldn't spare it for so long).
Then I went walking in a very, very stormy, rainy night (actually it was a
hurricane, but that doesn't make the story any worse, does it? :-), and
of-course the (unofficial) bag that I carried the TP in got soaked and so did
the machine. It was totally dead when I got home!
The next day I turned the unit on and it still worked! As an added bonus: My
CMOS battery problem had disappeared. I tell you: I believe in ThinkPads now!
>C'mon ... ;-) The 770 was an excellent box. I'vve never had a more flexible
>notebook. Well yes, it is heavy but I took it everywhere I went. Perhaps
>it's just a matter of training. ;-)
Med venlig hilsen / Regards,
