Lucent modem + binary driver and faxing (was: [ltp] Thinkpad 240)

Since I haven't received any responses, I repost my question:

Is the lucent modem with the binary driver a class 2[.0] modem?

Is anyone using it with sendfax (or any other fax application for that
matter)?

I can't seem to configure sendfax to work with it, and wonder if it's
worth keeping trying (since the sendfax docs say it would only work
with a class 2 or 2.0 modem).
