The problem may be that the timings you gave when you chose the type of
monitor are not adapted to the LCD panel. IIRC, there'are two specific
entries in the RedHat install script (Xconfigurator) for LCD panels. These
entries *must* be prefered to regular monitors.
If you plug an external monitor with LCD setting, you get a poor
display refresh rate on the monitor (60Hz @ 1024x768 for ex.)
Alternatively, If you use monitor settings with the LCD panel,
you get flickering (could hardware be damaged this way ?
me just paranoid :))
