This actually seems to be a problem with Red Hat. I just got SuSE 6.3
and BANG! no problems. I configured X and first shot it worked. I got
the new Lucent WinModem driver and (aside from forcing version
incompatibilities) it works. My only hold ups are sound, DVD I am
waiting on ALSA.
The SuSE install is sweet. I like it a lot as well as the new
enlightenment.
cheers,
Rob
PS I have a 1480
