Got my tp600x and installed RH6.1. built and installed the newest Alsa drivers
(0.5.4b) and configured conf.modules with what I think are the right aliases.
I use kmod to load and unload modules, (RH default)
/etc/conf.modules looks like:
# ALSA config
alias char-major-116 snd
options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-cs461x
# OSS emulation for ALSA
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
When all my soundmodules are loaded (to play a CD for example) /sbin/lsmod
gives:
Module Size Used by
snd-mixer-oss 3860 1 (autoclean)
snd-card-cs461x 1672 1 (autoclean)

I get the full alsa mixer panel, and can set volumes OK, can play a CD in the
cdrom drive just great, but no wav play or mp3. aplay says it is playing a
wav, but no sound. xmms says it is playing as well, but again no sound.
Any clues on mp3 or wav file playing?
