Patition Magic 4.0 has a problem with ext2 partitions. Try version 5.0
available at the IBM internal site

Also, don't upgrade to the latest Bios(INET28WW). Linux doesn't recognize
the disk geometry with it.

I am also working on a 2645, although it's a IB1 which is supposed to be
the same as a 4BU or an 8BU. What are you going to use for the sound chip
configuration?
