[ltp] Problems with IBM EtherJet cardbus

I have an IBM EtherJet 10/100 Cardbus for my TP 770. Until a couple
of weeks ago, it was working well, but since then I have not been able
to connect using DHCP. The card appears fine: the dongle lights are
on indicating no hardware (card, dongle, cable) problem, and Linux
detects the card: 'cardctl ident' lists the correct card, etc.

So I contacted the network adminstrator to see if there had been
network problems, but he said all was fine. He said that he was not
getting my hardware address in the network database and the problem
probably lies with the card, dongle, cable, or software. To check
that the configuration is OK, I borrowed a 3Com card and dongle and it
worked fine. I also booted up Win95 and was able to use the EtherJet
card without problems.

So the problem appears to be related to the driver or kernel and
driver. I'm using Mandrake 7.0 with kernel 2.2.14. Neither the
kernel nor the modules appear to have been modified within the past 6
months.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? Are there any
(software) tools I can use to check the connection, etc.?
