Maybe I should have made myself a little more clear. I only want to
turn it off for the shutdown process - it should be enabled
otherwise. And if the shutdown gets canceled (because there is an AC
connected within a certain time limit) it should be turned back on. 

Recompiling is hardly an option there. :-)
