[ltp] Enabling Sound on the ThinkPad 600e

I have recently installed Caldera eDesktop 2.4 on my ThinkPad 600e; however,
I have been unsuccessful in getting the sound card to work at all.  I'm a
Linux newbie, but have been successful in getting everything else up and
running.  The sound card is:  Crystal CS423x sound chip.  Any suggestions or
pointers would be greatly appreciated.
