inquires:
>Has anyone ever been successful in getting the IBM 16/4 Turbo PCMCIA Token
>Ring to work?
>I'm running Red Hat 6.0 (will be running 7.0 as soon as the download
>finishes), and so far I have been unable to get the network connection up
>and running.
Matthew Turner responds
>Uncomment the line in config.opts (/etc/pcmcia) that is for the ibmtr_cs.
>Also, adjust the settings for mmiobase to 0xD4000 and srambase to 0xD8000.
A newer solution:
1) Get the 2.2.18 package from www.linuxtr.net
2) If you plan to use RedHat 7.0, get the upgraded 3.1.21 version of
pcmcia_cs from sourceforge.net or elsewhere.
3) THIS IS THE PART THAT MAY HAVE GOTTEN LEFT OUT OF PREVIOUS
CORRESPONDENCES:
When using 1) and 2), recomment the line that Matt has you comment! Let the
driver pick default values. Your config.opts should look something like:
include memory 0xA0000000-0xA0025FFF #(64K SRAM + 8K MMIO + 4K CIS) * 2 cards [from abundant "high memory" area]
#
# Extra port range for IBM Token Ring
#
include port 0xA20-0xA2F
#Add other things you need for your other PCMCIA adapters
