Hi Bruce,
Apparently both can be made to work with Linux. I found references to both
on Kent Harker's site (www.cs.utexas.edu/~kharker/linux-laptop). It may be
touchy though -- apparently the Intel version of the mini-PCI works better
with Linux than the 3Com version (though I see that 3Com itself now has
drivers for this interface).
The modem is a Lucent winmodem. Linux drivers are available for this.
I haven't verified any of this myself yet. The T21 came with Windows 2000,
which I'd like to keep. I'll need to get a new copy of Partition Magic to
shrink the NTFS partition before laying down Linux on this box.
