[ltp] ESS AudioDrive 1938 with RedHat 6.2

Howdy,
	I have an IBM thinkpad 390X and I'm having some problems with the sound
card.  It's an ESS Audiodrive 1939 (according to my NT partition, under
which it's working fine).  The kernel detects it fine and loads the essolo
module.  When I run sndconfig, though, it plays the sample sound at half
speed (or, at least, slow speed).  Does anyone know what this might be?
